Friends of the St Clair River: Sturgeon Festival

  • Ft Gration Light Station Park 2802 Omar Street Port Huron, MI, 48060 United States (map)

Save the date for our 10th annual Sturgeon Festival on Saturday, June 3 at the Fort Gratiot Lightstation Park in downtown Port Huron!

Every June, our Sturgeon Festival connects thousands of visitors to Michigan's threatened lake sturgeon. Since we hatched the festival in 2014, we have been highlighting the fascinating story of this mascot for Great Lakes’ recovery. The work of lake sturgeon conservation in the St. Clair River is very important. It extends beyond the borders of Michigan with the introduction of this species into other Great Lakes. Once on the brink of extinction, and added to MIchigan's Threatened Species List, lake sturgeon are making a comeback and have become a spotlight for the habitat work completed in the St. Clair River.

Sturgeon Festival is our largest fundraiser and supports our education and conservation programs. Thanks to our sponsors admission is free!
